102) RV - Right for You?

If you are thinking about whether you should buy a Recreational Vehicle for your pre- and retirement-years, The Seasoned Traveler is here to help. George Bauer rents a 27-foot monster for a week and shows you what it's like after the test drive. The good and bad, the pros and cons. He'll drive to Florida and will hook up with other RVers who can describe their experiences.

103) Gulf Coast: Visiting and Retiring

Due to the profound effects of Hurricane Katrina, this show will be aired in Season 2, #206.

104) Four Corners: Hiker's and Driver's Paradise

From the Southeast to the Southwest. It is the only place in America where four states meet. It is also the place where our native ancestors first lived and thrived. George Bauer takes you to the historically-rich Four Corners region, where he'll focus on hiking through the multitude of national parks and monuments and show you why the region is such a wonderful place to drive. Among the stops: Hovenweep National Monument, Monument Valley, and Canyon de Chelly.

105) Copper Canyon/Women Traveling Alone

Heading south of the border we travel to Mexico for a train ride to the massive Copper Canyon. While it resembles Arizona's Grand Canyon, it is four-times larger. George Bauer rides along with some visitors on the famous Chihuahua al Pacifico Railroad and explores the Canyon.
On this program we'll also discuss the issue of women, especially older women, traveling alone to distant places. We'll ask some seasoned travelers for tips on enjoying a safe and secure vacation.

106) Mexican Heritage

From Oaxaca to the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico is a culturally-blessed land and it has preserved the ruins of its heritage so others can learn about its past. The Seasoned Traveler takes you to these regions, starting in Oaxaca and moving northward to San Cristobal, Palenque, Merida, Uxmal, and Chichen Itza.

107) Toronto

Now it's time to head north of the U.S. border to Canada. Our first stop is Toronto. Each season, George Bauer will focus on an important and exciting city in the regions he's visiting. Toronto is one of the largest, safest, and most dynamic cities in North America and it is Canada's most important city. You'll see what makes it memorable on The Seasoned Traveler.

108) "The Canadian"

All Aboard! We take you on the grandest train ride in Canada. VIA Rail's The Canadian takes passengers from Toronto to Vancouver, with stops in the breathtaking Canadian Rockies. The journey begins on Tuesday, passing the lakelands of northern Ontario, the central plains, the town of Jasper in the mountains, and ending on the Pacific Coast. It's a trip that train-lovers and seasoned travelers alike will cherish.

109) Vancouver Island, Away From it All

Once off the train, George Bauer will introduce you to one of Canada's most picturesque cities, Vancouver. He'll take you from Gastown to the top of Grouse Mountain. Then, hop the ferry and come along to Vancouver Island, a largely-unspoiled part of British Columbia, home to the lovely provincial capital of Victoria, and Butchart Gardens--one of the most beautiful green spaces in North America.

110) Cruising Europe, Popular With Older Travelers

The Seasoned Traveler heads to Europe for a River Cruise of the Rhine. We begin in Amsterdam, then enter the busy Rhine River in Germany. There is much to see as the ship sails along: hills, majestic castles, post-card towns and cities, lush vineyards. River cruises have become hot travel tickets for mature travelers. We'll talk to some about the journey.

111) German Gems

Once you get off the river cruiser, there are many great places in the south of the country to see. And The Seasoned Traveler will show you some beauties. The stops include Koblenz, Rudesheim, Mainz, Heidelberg, Wertheim, Wurzburg, Rothenburg, and Bamberg. Each is a gem in its own right and we'll show you what they have to offer.

112) Liechtenstein and the Other Little Lands

Germany is one of the largest lands in Europe. But there are five tiny places in Europe that we focus on in this program. George Bauer travels to Liechtenstein for most of the program, showing you the mountain highs and the valley lows of this fairy-tale country, about the size of Washington, D.C. Later in the broadcast, we'll highlight briefly the other little lands: Andorra, San Marino, Monaco, and Vatican City.

113) Christmas Markets

Every year as Advent arrives and people's thoughts turn to the joy of Christmas, Europe repeats a tradition that is more than 500 years old. In countries from Sweden to Spain and in cities from Paris to Prague, Christmas markets are set up in town squares. They have become a commingling of commerce and community, selling holiday ornaments and gifts, as well as food and the omnipresent gluhwein, a hot spiced red wine that cheers shoppers on a cold night. George Bauer takes you to several Christmas Markets, beginning in Vienna (which has several of them) and Salzburg in Austria, then to places like Passau, Regensburg, and Nuremberg in Germany.
